Default Elemental damage... need a fix?

After going through with several kinds of weapons, I am finding that fire out damages my other weapons in about 90% of the PvE fights. Just a thought, but I think they should mix it up a bit more. When my fire arrows puncture a fire imp for as much damage as my sundering bow, it just seems wrong.

If you using ingnite arrows thats why.
If your bow has a fire bow string your danage will be less, they do have high resistance to fire as any elementalist will explain to you.
I use my bow with a ice bow string from maximum effect against them.
(TBH the actual damage output on a standard hit does not vary that greatly, its when you use skills you see the difference)

I have the following max dmg bows and I don't use incind, ignite, etc: Ebon, Icy, Fire, Sundering, Vamperic, Lightning and Poisoners. Sure enough icy does more damage to fire imps, but my fire bow still wallops them hard (as hard as my vamp, ebon, sund, lightning). Beside the point, I find that fire damage does more or equal damage in about 90% of the monsters in the game. I don't think I have found anything PvE that takes more ebon or lightning damage. Holy damage is about the only other damage type I know of that is equal to fire damage in PvE.

Even in the desert I find myself using the fire bow over my icy bow.

That's interesting. As an Elementalist, I can tell you our damage is heavily effected by resistances. The last mission in particular is particularly difficult if you don't spec out of Fire.
